about

«Distante Claridade» («Distant Clarity» in Portuguese) is a sound
radiography about how has been my spiritual life after those two pandemic years, as well as a confessional exposure on all of my indignation, revolt, fury and melancholy, as well as lighter and more peaceful moments.

However, instead of words, I explore the strings of my acoustic and electric guitars, of an electric bass, or the piano keys (which were recorded in an older period compared to the majority of the tracks, but no less pertinent in terms of sound revolt). It is an album that arouses quite intimate political concerns, exposed more clearly in the titles of each piece, which allude to the circumstances that inspired me a desire to move and to raise awareness to the people. (Anyone who is Brazilian will be able to perceive that more clearly.) However, it is an album permeated with a lot of isolation, but also with lots of acoustics. Silences are more heard here.

The final two tracks, with Scalassara Prando and Inês Terra, are a counterpoint, as well as a complement to the journey. Dreams gave way to a more reflective awakening about reality and its most pressing challenges. The music has been instrumental in the midst of a moment of immense incommunicability. However, I come to say that there will be new dawns to wake up, despite such distance from its clarity.
